Registration for the 2017 ABA International Conference is now open

Help Association Autism and The Applied Behavior Therapy Association (ATCA) announce the opening of registration for the most important event in Romania dedicated to the applied behavioral analysis (ABA). ABA International Conference, now at the sixth edition, will take place between 21 and 23 April 2017, in Bucharest. This year's edition will have as lecturers six of the most worldwide renowned researchers in innovative branches of applied behavior analysis, and education technology.

 

Among them are:

Robert C. Mellon

Professor of Clinical Psychology-Experimental Behavioral Approaches (2009-present) in the Department of Psychology at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Athens, and director of Laboratory of Experimental and Applied Behavior Analysis (2010-present), Robert C. Millan is past president of the European Association for Behavior Analysis.

 

Janet Twyman

Janet Twyman, Ph.D., BCBA is the Director of Innovations in Technology for the U.S. Dept. of Education’s national Center on Innovations in Learning. After completing her doctorate at Columbia University, she ran an early childhood center and taught children, teachers, and parents. She is active on the boards of numerous organizations including the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies (as Education Group Chair).

Nicholas Weatherly

Dr. Weatherly is President of the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts and Past-President of both the Georgia Association for Behavior Analysis and the Kentucky Association for Behavior Analysis. He received his Ph.D. from Western Michigan University’s Applied Behavior Analysis Program where his research and studies centered on performance management interventions, behavior-based safety, behavioral systems analysis, and programmed instruction.

William Heward

William L. Heward, Ed.D., BCBA-D, is Professor Emeritus in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University. He has been a Fulbright Scholar in Portugal, served as Visiting Professor of Psychology at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan and at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and given lectures and workshops in 20 other countries.

Neil Martin

Neil Martin, Ph.D., BCBA-D, has been working as a behaviour analyst (as a clinician, academic, supervisor and researcher), since 1990. Dr. Martin received his Ph.D. from the University of Reading (UK) in 1998 and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in 2002.

Joyce C. Tu

Dr. Joyce C. Tu received a doctor of education in Educational Psychology specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis from West Virginia University. Dr. Tu has over fifteen years of experience providing trainings, workshops, and supervisions for professionals and parents working with individuals diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities.

ABA International Conference is the opportunity to learn for more than 500psychologists, psychiatrists, pediatricians, speech and ABA therapists, students and parents. In total, in the previous 5 editions, the conference brought together over 20 international speakers from USA, Great Britain, Norway and Spain. Certified by theBehavior Analyst Certification Board, ABA International Conference is organized each april in Bucharest by Help Autism and ATCA and it is a reference event in South-East Europe, structured in two main sections:

  • *The first two days are designed to offer a platform for the BCBA and BCaBA specialists to present their recent research.
  • *In the third day, speakers investigate and present the applicability of ABA in autism and legislative aspects of the domain.
